Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars: A superstar who was able to totally transition from her country roots to become an icon of pop culture for the long haul and then conquering the world through the process. Swift left her roots in the music of country as a separate layer, showing herself to be one of the best pop singers and songwriters of the generation she was born into. Swift was able to draw inspiration from the zeitgeist of today and transform it into her individual. These skills were evident on her very first singles, including neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter finding out who she was while also gaining the mass market. Fearless became an enormous success not just within the U.S., with six platinum-certified tracks thanks to the Top Ten songs Love Story and It's Yours to Belong with Me. It also did well internationally in countries such as Canada, the U.K. Canada & Australia. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the success and helped propel Swift to the heights of stardom. It was only after that her popularity grew exponentially over her next three albums -the Red album, released in 1989 and Reputation in 2017 Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her moving confidently to a realm of pop music in which she was already a part. When she did scale back her style with the 2020's stripped-down twins release folklore and Evermore her name remained at the top of the charts, a place she defended with the re-recordings her older catalogs as well as Midnights the top charting synth heavy 2022 collection.
